Today, I'm excited to share that the latest creation from Think Fast Games is live on Kickstarter. Word Whiz is more than just a game, it’s a tribute to those we’ve lost and those we’re lucky to still have in our lives.
What is Word Whiz?
Word Whiz is the newest creation from Think Fast Games, a labor of love that Alan and I have poured our hearts into. As we explain in our campaign video, Word Whiz is not just another word game — it's a fast-paced battle of wit and speed that challenges even the most seasoned wordsmiths.
A Tribute to Family
Word Whiz takes on an incredibly personal meaning for me; it's a tribute to the power of family and the enduring impact of those we love. My earliest memories include playing Scrabble with my Grandma Dorothy when I was just 5 or 6 years old. Her love for words left an indelible mark on me, even though we lost her to Alzheimer's when I was only 7.
Then there was my Uncle Eddie, a dedicated Senate staffer who made a significant impact on millions of lives by ensuring meals were available to students in need. To my sisters and me, he was just our fun uncle. He always had a new game for us to play every time we saw him. He taught us that creativity and fun go hand in hand, often making up entirely new games or twisting the rules of classic ones.
Supporting a Great Cause
In honor of Uncle Eddie and Grandma Dorothy, we're dedicating Word Whiz to their memory, and to the memory of Alan’s grandmother, who also battled with Alzheimer’s disease. Their unwavering support and the countless hours of family game nights inspired its creation. To further honor their legacy, we're donating 5% of all proceeds from future sales of Word Whiz to the Alzheimer's Research & Prevention Foundation. If we double our Kickstarter goal, we’ll donate an additional 5% to the WhyHunger organization, a cause that was very important to my Uncle Eddie.
